How to Choose the Right Size

15 Yard - Medium Remodels

Perfect for kitchen remodels, roofing projects, deck demolition, and medium-sized cleanouts. Our most popular choice.

20 Yard - Large Projects

Ideal for large home renovations, estate cleanouts, roofing up to 3,000 sq ft, and whole-house cleanouts.

30 Yard - Major Construction

For major construction projects, full home demolitions, commercial cleanouts, and large-scale renovation debris.

Dumpster Size FAQs

Consider the volume of debris you have. As a rule of thumb: small cleanout = 10 yard, medium project = 15 yard, large renovation = 20 yard, major construction = 30 yard. When in doubt, go one size up to avoid overage fees. Our team can also help you estimate for free.

A cubic yard is a unit of volume measuring 3 feet – 3 feet – 3 feet. A 10-yard dumpster can hold approximately the equivalent of 10 of these cubes – roughly 3-4 pickup truck loads of debris.

You can fill the dumpster level with the top edge. Nothing should be piled above the rim or hanging over the sides – this is a safety requirement for transport and is required by law.

If your dumpster exceeds the included tonnage allowance, an overage charge of $100 per additional ton applies. The charge is prorated based on actual overage at the landfill scale.

We recommend choosing a larger size if you’re unsure, as swapping a dumpster during an active rental incurs additional delivery and pickup fees. Call us early if you think you need a swap.
